Our 8-week build ended up taking considerably longer due to some unforeseen challenges with the ground - Andy and the team worked with us the whole time to ensure that we got the best result in the end. It was so important for us to be able to trust Andy’s judgement and knew that he would not let us down. Our new room, lovely new kitchen and fantastic patio area was completed by him and his great team, all of whom were easy to deal with and very professional. Nikki kept us informed all the way and we couldn’t be happier with the end result.

I engaged Walkers Construction to convert a garage to a kitchen/diner and separate utility area and renovate/update much of the remaining 1980s property.
Andy and Nikki provided a detailed quote and schedule of work and they were on hand at all times to keep me updated on the progress of each step of the build. This good planning proved essential during the ever-changing lockdown restrictions.
The team of sub-contractors were helpful and professional during the planning stages and proved hard working and skilful in fulfilling the reality of the plans. Their presence on site was well coordinated with respect to the schedule of work and also in meeting safe Covid working practices.
The site was always left safe, tidy and secure. I particularly wish to mention and thank everyone for the little extra fixes and mends that were above and beyond their remit.
I am extremely happy with the quality of workmanship carried out to a high standard with excellent attention to detail. Despite the problems thrown up by the Covid lockdown the project was completed pretty much on time and I would not hesitate to recommend Walkers Construction.
Andy and his team built my house extension, to include a sitting room and boot room, over the course of 6+ months. The work required detailed stonework to match the existing building, which made the build more complicated, but the work was finished to a very high standard and I still enjoy admiring the quality of work and receiving compliments from my neighbours.
At least as important during the process was the relationship of trust that Andy and Nikki, his administrator in the business engine-room, earned through the duration of the work. The build lasted for many months and there was not a single day when Andy was not immediately available to answer questions and provide assistance if required.
Andy used a team of trusted contractors who seemed to have the same work ethic as him and having such a friendly and helpful team on site meant that the process never became intrusive.
Andy was flexible to allow various changes to the plans as the build progressed, showing great patience at times, and I am delighted with the finished product.
As a word of appreciation following the completion of my new kitchen by yourself and your team. The kitchen looks lovely both aesthetically pleasing and very professionally installed. I particularly appreciated the care you took with co-ordinating the work of the various sub-contractors, all of whom did very professional jobs.
We contracted Walkers Construction to carry out an extensive two story extension with other upgrades to the existing house. They came recommended by our architect and by previous customers.
Our project required tradesmen to be on site for nearly 10 months but I can honestly say it never became a drag, this a testimony to Andrew Walker’s organisation and insistence for keeping a tidy and clean site. We faced some challenges during the ground work phase which required some rethinking; but with good communication these where over come to the satisfaction of all involved and the project moved on with little time lost.
All the tradesmen including subcontractors where managed by Andrew to ensure efficient use of time and materials; without fail, everyone on site was reliable, friendly and helpful above and beyond the call of duty.
We are really happy with the quality of all the work carried out from bricklaying, roofing, plastering, electrical, plumbing, heating, decorating, flooring, and tiling, to kitchen fitting. We would have no hesitation in recommending Walkers Construction to anyone looking for a reliable skilled team of tradesmen who are happy to give advice and are dynamic when faced with challenges.
We contracted with Walker Construction after whittling down a number of quotes to two options. After viewing previous work of both our choices we decided to go with Walker Construction due to the quality of workmanship we saw and the excellent feedback from previous customers. We initially had a meeting with Andy and Nikki to sort out the details of the extension to our house. Following this a schedule of works was produced along with a contract and agreed staged payment plan. Everything was carried out in a very professional manner with Nikki handling the back office and Andy concentrating on the building work. Right from the foundations being dug to the final completion of the work we have been delighted. Andy is meticulous in his planning and has a great team of tradesman that work along- side him. The work carried out has been to an exceptional standard with a high- quality finish. Even though we requested additional work along the way, Andy was always very accommodating. He and Nikki made sure we were kept informed at each stage of the build. Ensuring that we were constantly consulted over key elements along the way. We would not hesitate to use Walker Construction again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have some building or home improvement work done.
Throughout the project Andy was always open and honest. He is a multi-skilled craftsman who employs a talented team of professionals. They got the job done to a very high standard, on time and within budget (well almost – the overruns were small and explained in detail).
I would be happy to use him again and recommend him to anyone.
Andrew Walker has undertaken several projects for me. The first job he did was my kitchen and I am still thrilled with that! I then asked him to remove an old conservatory and build a large orangery. It has transformed the way I feel about my house as the work has been done to an extremely high standard.
For each of these projects Andy proved himself utterly reliable and with a great attention to detail. With him in charge you do not need a project manager or to juggle all the different trades yourself. He does everything! All the various trades he brought to work on the house were really good people. Andy makes sure they do a good job and, on the days he wasn’t on site himself, he would always ring in the evening to check that things were ok.
I have always also been impressed that if something crops Andy always has a solution. He’s good at managing people and solving problems. He seems really well informed about all the products and possibilities there are out there too. He’s a thoughtful builder who really wants you to love the end result.
I really cannot emphasise enough how pleased I have been with Andy’s work. I would happily hand him the keys to my house and let him rebuild the whole thing!
Last point to make is that he sticks to budget and there are no nasty surprises when you pay the bill.

Right from the start we were pleased with the service, the quote came through quickly and we were given the flexibility to purchase our own materials but with Andy on hand regularly for expert advice and to let us know exactly which items we needed to order.
Works started on time and proceeded on schedule, we were kept informed throughout with what would be happening and when. Andy and the team were great, they worked neatly and tidied every night so we were not living in chaos.
The works finished on time and we are so impressed; the bathroom looks amazing and has a really high-quality finish with all details attended to.
The works have exceeded our expectations and we would not hesitate to recommend Walkers Construction to anyone needing building works.
Andy and Nikki at Walkers Construction are fantastic to deal with. They really care about you and your job, and getting it done as quickly and professionally as possible. Nikki communicates schedules clearly and promptly online, while Andy's work is of a very high standard. He works quickly, but you never feel a corner is being cut. You trust him completely to work conscientiously and unattended in your own home. They did a brilliant job for us, fitting a new wet-room floor - and after we had experienced real problems with two former contractors. Not with Walkers. We chose Andy Walker because of a recommendation from architects, prior reputation and testimonials and the very good admin support he had from his main office (i.e. Nikki!). The job began and ended exactly on time and budget as per the contract. Andy and his sub-contractors were always friendly, hard-working and polite. They took particular care to leave everything clean and tidy after work every evening and he responded quickly to any questions or issues that we had. We were very happy with the finished work which exactly matched design drawings. We would recommend him to anyone thinking of having building works done.
I have employed Andrew Walker and his team on a number of projects over the last three years: a complete refurbishment of an office building; installing a new bathroom and kitchen in a listed property; refurbishment of two more bathrooms and a downstairs cloakroom with marble floors.
